Meet Yves Dario, our contact at the King Baudouin Foundation, which recently set up its office here. From Charleroi, this new local presence aims to bring the Foundation closer to stakeholders in the area, strengthen collaborations and support philanthropy for the benefit of Hainaut and its inhabitants. This is an opportunity to discover its missions, its projects and the links to be built with our community.

“By joining A6K, we wish to strengthen our proximity to stakeholders in Hainaut and create new bridges between those who want to take action for the area and those who are leading projects and seeking support.”

History

The King Baudouin Foundation was established in 1976 to mark the 25th anniversary of King Baudouin’s reign. An independent and pluralistic public benefit foundation, it supports people and organisations that contribute to a better society, in Belgium, in Europe and elsewhere in the world. It celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026.

Its Hainaut office, based at A6K since 1 October, provides a local point of contact for the whole of Hainaut. It aims to bring the Foundation closer to local stakeholders and develop collaborations.

Fun fact?

The Foundation grew out of the idea of giving King Baudouin, to mark the 25th anniversary of his reign, a gift useful to society rather than a monument. This gift became an organisation working towards a better society, still active fifty years later.
