In December 2024, Sirris inaugurated its Demonstrator 4.0 at A6K as part of Digital Wallonia with a practical objective, helping Walloon manufacturers including SMEs make their transformation concrete rather than theoretical.

That intention becomes clear in the demonstrator itself. Beyond raising awareness, the serious game brings people from different functions into the same room and asks them to arbitrate, collaborate, and absorb the consequences of change together. The point is subtle but important. Transformation is not only a technical sequence. It is also a collective exercise in alignment.

The VR Factory extends this logic further. Developed within HITT, Human Interaction Technology Transfer, it allows companies to step into realistic manufacturing situations and compare what operations look like before and after a digital shift. As one of Wallonia’s Strategic Innovation Initiatives, HITT plays a key role in accelerating the adoption of immersive and interactive technologies across priority sectors targeted by the region’s Strategic Innovation Domains.

The same operational perspective is reflected in the 3D printing farm. By networking additive manufacturing equipment, connecting it to ERP logic and capturing production parameters, the demonstrator shows how process optimization becomes observable and actionable. Quality is no longer treated as an outcome alone but becomes something the production system can monitor, document and improve. That is far more convincing than generic language about smart manufacturing.

Around these anchor actors, more focused innovators sharpen the picture.

XR Intelligence develops immersive and AI enabled solutions for industry and architecture, strengthening A6K’s capacity to turn complex environments into something operators, engineers and decision makers can actually navigate.

Matgenix pushes the performance question upstream, using machine learning, data science and simulation to accelerate the optimisation and development of materials, compounds and processes.

Together, they show that industrial performance does not begin and end on the shop floor. It also depends on what a company can model earlier, visualize better and decide sooner.
