November 28, 2025 – The third edition of Cyberweek is in full swing. The event brings together numerous experts in cybersecurity, data and AI (the three key themes of this year’s edition) who are taking part in conferences, demonstrations and workshops. Among them is Markus Vervier, cofounder of Persistent Security Industries. Markus is featured for the work he and his cofounders began back in 2022: building Nemesis, an AI-driven platform that simulates cyberattacks, diagnoses vulnerabilities, and gives companies clear, data-backed actions to boost their security.
Markus, who defines himself as a “white hacker”, a hacker who uses expertise to identify system vulnerabilities and ultimately reinforce security, has spent his entire career in the security field. In 2022, together with cofounders Babette De Decker, Nikos Laleas and Michele Orrù, he envisioned a platform leveraging artificial intelligence to support cybersecurity experts in assessing a company’s security posture, notably by simulating cyberattacks.
With Nemesis, diagnostics are carried out automatically. Once completed, we can then make solid recommendations on how to improve the situation. Being able to visualize the situation helps a lot. The program also makes it possible to obtain precise data.
Nemesis is gaining traction across the Benelux, France, and Germany, while expanding support for SMEs right here in Wallonia to help them strengthen their security capabilities.
