Cybersecurity has become a critical priority for defense, security, and dual-use technologies. In this context, the Royal Higher Institute for Defence and the Belgian Cyber Command are launching STRIKE IT, the 2026 call for proposals aimed at supporting innovative initiatives in cybersecurity for connected objects.

Unique opportunity for innovators

This program will support up to 6 high-potential projects, each eligible for up to €150,000 in funding and a maximum duration of six months. Selected projects will gain direct access to the Cyber Defense Factories and their specialized ecosystems, designed to accelerate breakthroughs, market-ready innovation.

More than a standard call for proposals, STRIKE IT acts as a strategic enabler, helping projects scale, validate, and contribute meaningfully to the future of cyber defense.

Theme 2026: Internet of Things cybersecurity

This year’s focus is on IoT cybersecurity in defense and dual-use contexts, explored through two complementary streams.

Focused on connected objects in terrestrial and aerial domains: vehicles, drones, and smart appliances.
  • Maritime & naval - CDF8000 [Cyber Defense Factory Brugge] at Howest
Cybersecurity of connected objects aboard vessels and in port.
